I was going to post a rant about how Verizon customer service sucks. But then I talked to a really nice young woman who helped me out tremendously. Now I'm starting to think that it's just the customer service in the Verizon stores that sucks.

My phone, which is maybe three months old, is defective. The battery doesn't seem to hold a charge, but the new battery they ordered didn't work. So it's the phone. Then I had to wait for a new phone. It should be here tomorrow.

Not only did the person tell me how to back up my numbers, and transfer my photos to an online album (which I can then send back to the new phone), but she told me that I could activate the new phone at home--which was not what the person at the store told me.

That having been said, I've not been entirely thrilled with Verizon's service, especially in regard to their phones and service thereon. Does anybody out there have any more positive experience with another phone company and their (proprietary) phones? I used to have an LG phone with Verizon that lasted for four years. Then the last one lasted less than a year. This current incarnation lasted less than three months. My current plan which includes 500 text and more minutes than I usually use is about $55 a month. Can any of you recommend a phone company that is less expensive and has better phones? Or at least, with which you have better experience? My contract is up in April, so it's not pressing. But I'm considering a switch.

After a weekend of feeling sick and throwing up, on Sunday around 4 Courtney and I took a trip to the CVS Minute Clinic to see what the deal was. The very nice nurse there unfortunately couldn't do anything for my fever, nausea, and back pain so she sent me off to the ER. Given the fact that I hadn't had more than a cup of fluids that I was able to keep down in quite some time this was probably a good call.

At the ER the first thought was kidney infection (which I thought as well). They gave me lovely anti-nausea drugs, plenty of fluids, and delightful morphine. However my tests came back negative so they next thought it was a blood clot in my lung. Yikes. After an hour or so of concern for that outcome the CAT scan came back negative and they came to the conclusion that I sprained my back vomiting. Oh yay. I mean that is way better than a blood clot but it still hurts. A lot.

Today I am banned from work and confined to a clear foods diet (though I'm about to move on to saltines because I am sooooo hungry!). Hungry is a good sign right? They gave me a prescription for anti-nausea drugs which is working great. Hurray! I'm super bummed about missing a day of work, though, and I hope I can make it back there tomorrow.

If by "something", you mean crap.

Sebastian had to bring me into work this morning, as he took me home when I was sick on Friday and I left my car at there. We left here at 8:10 am, to get to somewhere 25-30 minutes away. By 9:00. I like being early, what can I say.

Due to a freak ice storm this morning around 5:00 am, roads and tunnels being closed or severely congested, and having to drive all the hell around Robinson's barn to find a way to work, I finally got there about 11:20 am. Three hours and 10 minutes later. O.o Thankfully we aren't penalized for being late due to inclement weather. Milton ended up finally getting there after I did, so he was the latest on my shift. The mid shift ended up having a few people 5-10 minutes late, but it wasn't as bad then.

I still felt cruddy today, but I would have had to get a doctor's note to be out more than two days in a row. Thus, I made it in (eventually) and stuck it out. I had chills early in my work day, but those quickly went away. I had to run to the bathroom a few times later in my day, but thankfully those were mostly false alarms. (The crud is working it's way out the other end.) I'd really rather that, actually, than potentially disgracing myself in front of co-workers and customers. I think most of us would prefer that, to think of it.

After work, I got some wonton soup and plain white rice for dinner. I was tired of boxed chicken noodle soup or canned stuff. In attempting to eat a mouthful of rice, I inhaled a few grains and started to choke a little. Nothing life-threatening, thankfully, but annoying nonetheless. And even though I had just gone to the bathroom not 15 minutes before, I peed myself a little whilst choking on the rice.

Really? Come one now...

I thought it was SO funny when my niece was projectile vomiting at the airport. Seriously, it was like something out of a cartoon or a movie. I'd never actually seen another human being doing that.

Thankfully, it was just breastmilk and as such, was not that bad to clean up. Also, had it looked more like adult vomit, it would not have been nearly so funny to me. I also apologized profusely to Jen for laughing. I mean, Keira was throwing up on her, and the seat, and the floor. Had I been the one to clean it up, the humorousness, at the time, would have been lost completely.

Yeah, I thought it was so funny, until I went to work yesterday. I had been experiencing some lower abdominal cramping before work, which I attributed to perhaps starting my period. Then I started to feel feverish and dizzy. Finally, after about an hour into my shift, I went into the bathroom and threw up. Needless to say, I went home.

Point is, I think I might have caught whatever stomach bug Keira had. I stayed home from work today, as I was still feeling rocky this morning, and I fear it may be working it's way through in the other direction. I do NOT want to be going to work when I feel this yucky, nor do I feel like passing it along to anyone else. Also, I doubly do not want to go into work, feeling this yucky, when I would have had to work a shift with my insane ASM. Not happening.

I'm not laughing so much anymore.
